I had a great experience bringing Blake’s first short film to life. He was very prepared with specific references and ideas about how the film should look and feel, which inspired me to rise to the occasion. He wanted a look inspired by Korean noir with sensual overtones. The entire film takes place in one location, where I used defined pools of light to illuminate the set, as well as soft sources and subtle diffusion filters to help the actresses look their best. The film is enjoying a successful festival run, including the Newport Beach, Sidewalk, and Gasparilla film festivals among others.
