LIFE

LIFE is a 3-minute, single take short film based on a simple premise. Director Rod Blackhurst wanted a stripped down setting with deliberate camera moves. He also loved the idea of shooting on 16mm film for the color and grit. After scouring Google Earth for desolate locations within driving distance of Los Angeles, we drove out to Mojave, CA to explore the desert roads where we found the perfect combination of scenery, road direction, and time of day to get the desired lighting. It’s a risky maneuver to put all your eggs in one basket like this, but we had a great team and I’m happy we were able to pull it off. LIFE premiered as a Vimeo Staff Pick.
